Yes it should. May be a silly question, but worth asking. Did you stop
all the GlassFish related
processes prior to doing the backup to make sure that there were no
open/locked files?

The PC has now been formatted. If the name is changed, would it cause any problems to the old glassfish installation, of copied back to its original dir?

It shouldn't as we use localhost in our domain configuration. A quick
grep of your actual hostname under
expanded files(particularly domain.xml) will confirm that.

Ok, thank you.
Another thing I forgot to also mention is the OS of my PC was Vista, I ave completely formatted it with new Windows 7. Hope this won't be a problem. It's the same installation file for all the windows?

Good question. I didn't ave glassfish running. I usual run glassfish when I need it.
